How to answer a Jehovah's witness

God's image:
Let it first be said that Jehovah's Witnesses are men and women made in the image of God. As such, you can see the Glory of God in them. As with all other humans, that image has been tainted by sin. They are no more or less of a sinner than I am, for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God [Romans 3:23]. Because they do not know the truth about God and who He is, and have not asked this God for forgiveness of sins by faith in Jesus, they remain in darkness. It is our job to love them while we show them the way of life. We cannot argue them into faith in the true Jesus, as it is the Holy Spirit who does the convicting.

Jesus: who is He?
Nevertheless, we should strive to give an answer for our faith and present sound reasoning and logical arguments. Perhaps God's Spirit can use this to show them the Gate, which is Christ.
I believe that the main dividing point between the belief of Jehovah's Witnesses (JW) and born-again Christians is the doctrine of the Deity of Jesus Christ. And this has always been the premier question. Who do you say I am? [Matt 16:15] Although there are many points where JW's believe falsehoods, this one is essential. A JW who confesses that Jesus Christ is God Almighty has turned his back on the Kingdom Hall and is excommunicated from their assembly. And Jesus said, "if you do not believe that I AM, you will indeed die in your sins." [John 8:24--Greek]. This "I AM" is none other than God Almighty who appeared to Moses in the flames of the burning bush.

Showing who Jesus is:
I have found that the easiest and most effective way to prove that Jesus is Almighty God to a Jehovah's Witness, from the Bible, is to use the JW's most quoted book....Revelation.

First, you ask the witness to read Revelation 1:8; "I am the Alpha and the Omega," says the Lord God , "who is, and who was, and who is to come, the Almighty." Ask the Witness, "Who is the Alpha and the Omega?" They will respond that He is Jehovah God. Of course if they say that this is Jesus, you are done because the verse says "the Lord God"

Then you ask them to read Revelation 21:6-7; "I am the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End....and I will be his God." Ask the Witness, "who is the 'Beginning and the End, the Alpha and the Omega?" The response again would be "Jehovah God"

Then ask them to read from Revelation 22:12-13; "Behold, I am coming soon!...I am the Alpha and the Omega, the First and the Last, the Beginning and the End." Here is where it gets interesting. In this verse we already see that this Alpha/Omega; First/Last; Beginning/End is coming soon. Verse 16 says, "I, Jesus..." But the witness may say that in verse 16 the speaker changes, and that's OK. Just ask the Witness who the First and the Last is. The answer would need to be "Jehovah God" since the First and the Last is also the Alpha/Omega and Beginning/End.

Finally, have the Witness turn back to Revelation 1:17-18; "Do not be afraid. I am the First and the Last [now who is this First/Last?--Jehovah God!] I am the Living One; I WAS DEAD, AND BEHOLD I AM ALIVE FOR EVER AND EVER!.

Now ask the Witness, "When did Jehovah God die?"
