November 8, 2003 Total Lunar Eclipse Event!

The Johansen's held an eclipse party Saturday night.
Several people from his work, and neighborhood came to enjoy God's awesome night show!

Plenty of telescopes and binoculars on hand...

The kids played, drew pictures of planets and stars, and we all ate hot dogs, chips, beans, hot apple cider, hot chocolate, and treats! Yum!!

And a bonfire in the back!!!


No special equipment needed to view the lunar eclipse.

The event was open to everyone, and it turned out to be a great success!!!!

Special Report!!!
That evening 5 children from the neighborhood came to the party to enjoy the view. I had a chance to offer a free pocket Bible to two of them. Later, all 5 came to me wanting Bibles for the other three. We had a chance to sit down and talk. I asked one of them if he knew what the Bible was about. He said he didn't. Next thing I knew, all 5 children listened to me tell them the good news of Jesus Christ and how He died for us so that we can be with Him in heaven. I covered Creation, The Fall, The Law, and then Jesus. All five children wanted to ask Jesus into their hearts! So I had the privilege of praying with them as they all received Him! Praise the Lord! So often children are more likely to humble themselves to God and receive Jesus. Adults often have erected a lot of barriers and doubts and fears, and so they never make that commitment and change. If you are an adult reading this, please consider your eternal fate and whether or not you have ever asked Jesus to be total Lord over your life.
