A Biblical view on "aliens"

Venus

What lesson can we learn from our past search for life there?

Until the 1960s, Venus was often considered a "twin sister" to the Earth because Venus is the nearest planet to us, and because superficially the two planets seem to share many characteristics. In earlier times, there was considerable speculation concerning the possibility of life on Venus, sometimes with rather elaborate characteristics.

In the last 30 years we have learned a great deal about our "sister" planet, and we now know that
almost nothing on Venus is like that on the Earth. Much of the previous misconception can be traced to the difficulty of observing Venus because it is always covered with a thick cloud layer. In the past 3 decades astronomers have learned how to peer through that cloud layer and unlock many of the secrets of this nearby but previously not well known planet.

What is Venus like?

Venus Diameter: 12,104 km, [0.948 Earth Diameters]
Planetary Mass: 4.86x1024 kg, [0.82 Earth masses]
Average Distance from Sun: 108 million km, [0.7233 AU (astronomical units)]
Length of Day: 243 Earth days
Length of Year: 225 Earth days
Number of natural satellites: 0
Planetary ring system: No
Average temperature: 737 K (464 C)--Earth's average surface temperature is 14.2 C
Atmospheric composition: 96.5% Carbon Dioxide (CO2), 3.5% Nitrogen (N2)
Cloud cover composition: mainly sulfuric acid
Atmospheric pressure: 500 times greater than that on earth

Summary: Venus has clouds made of sulfuric acid, air made of carbon dioxide, and atmospheric pressure 500 times greater than here on earth!!! And it is so hot on Venus that metal will melt on the surface.
So although we once thought that Venus looked well suited for life, and called Venus our sister planet, we now know that to all be false. So then we moved on to Mars. Recently we have learned that there are no oceans, canals, or any evidence of their previous existence. So we have turned our attention to deep space. Although over 100 planets have been discovered orbiting similarly sized stars as our Sun, we have discovered that these planets are equally inhospitable and unsuited for any life. What lesson can we learn from this???

Perhaps there may indeed be no other life in the universe but ours and that although it then sounds like we are alone--yet we are NOT alone. We were created by God for a personal relationship with Him. And we NEVER have to be alone. God created us for a relationship with Himself. He loves us. The rest of the cosmos declares His glory, and was never intended to house other image-bearers.

VENUS, THE NEBULAR HYPOTHESIS, AND EVOLUTION
Pierre-Simon de LaPlace described the Nebular Hypothesis, which most evolutionist astronomers believe today. This theory states that the solar system evolved from a cloud of gas and dust produced from the Big Bang.
The Nebular Hypothesis states that:
1) Since all planets and stars came from the same cloud, there should be a uniformity of composition between them
2) The stars and planets "spun" off as chunks of stellar material. Therefore, The Law of Conservation of Momentum dictates that all satellites should spin in the same direction.

Venus, however has a rotation that is OPPOSITE of Mercury, Earth and Mars. The Nebular Hypothesis is disproved by the rotational direction of Venus. The Nebular Hypothesis therefore cannot be used to explain the origin of the visible universe and evolutionary theory.
